By taking a closer look through time-crevices at the Greek underground alternative scene,… we focus for a while on those groups that putting it poetically, gave sound-delirium brushes on creased music notation books and instruments-in-turmoil so as to ultimately communicate a genuinely tensed “dance” atmosphere. No doubt that Ήταν Είναι Και Θα Είναι (Η.Ε.Κ.Θ.Ε.) [Etan Enae Kai Tha Enae (Η.Ε.Κ.ΘΕ) standing for Was Is And Will Be] is strictly associated with such an approach when it comes to artistic expression. Moreover, no doubt that Η.Ε.Κ.Θ.Ε. strongly relates to the act of performing a frenetic mixture of a straightforward sound impetus and an alternative aesthetic maturity. Formed in 1987 in the city of Thessalonica, Η.Ε.Κ.Θ.Ε. initially released two demo tapes («Συγνώμη 'Ηρθατε Δεύτερος» standing for “I Am Sorry You Came Second” and «Οσα Παίρνει Ο Άνεμος» meaning “All the Wind Takes”) and later on in 1990, their sole full record album titled «Μ’ Όλα Τα Χρώματα Στην Τσέπη» (i.e., “With All Colors in the Pocket”) distributed by the music label Lazy Dog Records. In addition, Η.Ε.Κ.Θ.Ε. participated in “The Opticoacousthc Bomb” (1991) video-collection released by Fifth Dimension Records as well as in "The Rock Propaganda Series", a record collection released by Cactus Records in 1992, just one year after the group disbanded.
The album «Μ’ Όλα Τα Χρώματα Στην Τσέπη» is an example of an escalated elation on the grounds of punk ’n roll and noisy alternative motifs. More specifically, from initiation-compositions such as those of «Κρασί» (i.e., “Wine”) and «Βουτιά στον Άνεμο» (i.e., “Dive in the Wind”) to the authentic wakefulness of songs such as those of «Προσωρινά» (i.e., “Temporarily”) and «5 λέξεις» (i.e., “5 Words”), from straightly robust tunes such as those of «Δεσποινίς Χορεύτε» (i.e., “Miss do you dance”) and (i.e., “Yours”) to further ephemeral standby-state moments like those of «Ήταν και θα Είναι» (i.e., “Was Is and Will Be”) and «Το Μαντζόρε της Αυγής» (i.e., “The Majore of Dawn”), Η.Ε.Κ.Θ.Ε. whirl the listener round a continuous brain stimulation, compel him/her to a continuous sensory-relevant mobilization. Finally, the listener realizes that the band exemplifies a music work of exceptional sound coherence, a work which accompanied by tactically employed artfully-twisted versification occupies a very special place within the Greek underground alternative music scene.
Therefore, 25 years after its original release, eirkti re-releases this special album. An album that on the basis of its inspirational sound and lyrical dynamics has been made to be played loud. Thus, we invite all friends out there to act accordingly. Comes in a strictly limited edition of 300 black vinyl copies.
